eBid Moves To New Data Center In The USA
eBid have just announced they will be moving there servers to a new data center in Dallas, Texas at the end of May 09 or early June 09, The the new data center will host a total of 18 brand new servers which will give eBid far more capacity, speed and reliability to it’s users.
eBid also have announced they will be introducing a much more sophisticated search environment that will help ease the pressure they currently have on there database servers which in turn will free them up and help push for much faster page loads on there least efficient pages.
This together with the new eBid redesign and much needed Ninja Lister software launch makes for an exciting couple of months ahead for eBid.net.

Trying to access Ebid UK for 24 hours, page not found message! What is going on? I have tried on 3 different computers using 3 ISP’s and it’s the same message, page not found.
Have gone to http://anonymouse.org but this will not allow login to account. Come on Ebid get it sorted out.

Have been trying all day to get into e-bid, only a message from Garry and Mark ?? comes up saying changing servers and it could take 12 hours, it been more than that now, I am trying to pay for purchases, and get on to do selling, it just went suddenly, no warning,
very worried!!!!

Can’t access Ebid – been trying all day to check sales etc. Is there a problem with the uk server??? Had no warning of any site maintenance..no other point of contact other than this site. can someone let me know what is happening please. Thank you

“eBid will be going for it’s move to a new data centre in Dallas, Texas at around 4am GMT (5am London, Midnight New York) tomorrow morning.
We will be moveing hundreds of gigabytes of data over the atlantic and it could take a few hours. We will also be chaning our DNS entries which will mean the efficiency of your ISP will determine when you will be able to see eBid again, some could be as soon as we flick the switch back on, some could be a few more hours.
We hope to flick the switch back on at 7am GMT on Monday.
The changeover will not have any affect on URLs, the site will not look any different, it will just be over 200% faster and bulk uploads will be around 1000% faster.”

“The update went smoothly and we were up within 3 hours. Some users with less than efficient ISPs will find they won’t have access for a few hours until their ISPs get round to updating the DNS database. Any little glithces will be ironed out as we work through things for the rest of the day. Thanks for the patience.”
