eBid Announces Investment Plans For 2009 Growth

To support its 2009 growth ambitions eBid.net will re-invest its 2008 profits into marketing initiatives to include key strategic partnerships and international advertising.

Additionally, to make its site quicker and easier to use, eBid is investing in technical and design improvements. These include its ‘Ninja Lister’ desktop software application to enable offline auction creation and ease the transfer of auctions from other sites; its first public API to support third party applications and widgets; the creation of a Who’s Online System to bolster an already huge and vibrant online community and the introduction of non-English versions of the site.

eBid Buyers Stay Safe

Buying online is generally a very safe process, as long as you know what to look out for and are always willing to do a little homework about your seller first.

The key is making sure the risk factor is as low as possible. Here are some of the basic checks all buyers new or experienced should make before even thinking about biding or buying.

1. Upgrade to Platinum 15 Day Offer

newsletter top We have added a new selling level (Platinum) that provides additional features and facilities that have been requested by our professional sellers. The new features are specifically designed to allow streamlining of customer invoicing and payments as well as providing flexible auction listings features that make the professional seller’s auction experience run smoothly and efficiently in a busy business environment.

Platinum members will now be able to schedule auction start and close times, list fixed price Listings (no bidding) and run their items until sold. Platinum members also have full checkout services including access to PayPal checkouts for the first time allowing buyers to make quick and easy payments for the goods bought. Customer invoices can be sent out at will or on request. Other additions features include but are not limited to free multiple eBid Stores.

We will be running an offer for around 2 weeks over Xmas whereby we will multiply all the subscriptions paid to date by 10 and put this towards the full cost of our Platinum Lifetime subscription. The day after the multiple will go down to 9 and so on.

Platinum Lifetime Costs
uk £149.99

eg. If you have already paid £44.99 for a Gold Lifetime we will multiply this by 10 to give you £449.90 and this will easily cover the £149.99 cost of Platinum. I’m afraid we will not be giving any credits for the remaining £299.91!

2. Additional Features
The most noticeable change is to the summary page of My eBid. Now every item you have bought or sold has a dropdown menu with all the options you need to continue with the transaction, including invoicing, payment and feedback making the after auction process so simple.

Other changes include

* After Auction Log fixes and additions
* eBid Store navigation changes
* Login for status link on auction pages
* Gallery Auction 2% variable closing fee
* Specific feedback highlighting
* Option to automatically load My Default set on starting an auction
* My Favourite Searches daily emails
* Edit auction page changes

3. Site Re-design Update
Our latest upgrade is only a tiny part of the changes that are in the pipeline for eBid. We have been working on a brand new design that will take us to the pinnacle of worldwide auction websites in terms of design and usability.

Designs should be finalised in mid January with the re-launch of the site a few weeks after that.
